JW Consciousness Stream - 26 November 2025
This short entry represents something like my stream of consciousness for Wednesday, 26 November, 2025. This is basically like a journal entry that I work on throughout the day and then don't go back to correct errors.

Some topics in this post:
- Karl Marx
- My foot
- AI's potential impact on Less Developed Countries (LCD)
Yesterday I went to I went to a Russian restaurant and read and wrote a bit about Marx. Then I went to a Lao immigration office to extend my tourist visa for a few days. Now I can stay here for Wendy's birthday party on Friday and then I'll fly to Chiang Mai on Sunday.
My right foot still has a suprising amount of pain, but somehow also numbness in some places. My two smaller toes almost split off my foot, so there is probably some severe and permanent nerve damage. That foot is also very swollen still, enough that it's difficult to put on flipflops. Considering the tile and concrete and lack of any carpet padding throughout in this house in Laos, it is nice to have had something soft under my heal for the first time in a month. Going to a restaurant yesterday without a cast and crutches felt liberating somehow, but I doubt I'll be dancing Friday and Saturday nights. I have to break a habit that I've developed of walking without putting any pressure on those toes. My bigger concern is the stiffness and the fact that three toes appear to be permanently bent.v
After reading only about 60 pages of an Marx's Capital Illustrated, I've typed so much of my perspective and taken so many notes about Karl Marx and his theories that I feel I might exceed the length of the original Communist Manifesto.
After putting too much time into that, I did manage to publish one small thing.
Then I started working on another piece about how AI might affect Less Developed Countries (LCD) differently than those countries making significant investments in AI. As with many things, it turned out to be bigger than I expected, and I'm probably not even halfway done.
It's 3:30. I think I should spend the rest of the day away from the computer, preferably listening to music, but likely reading and absorbing information from YouTube.
